Joining The Pastor's House gives each pastor a worksheet to calculate how much of their church compensation should be designated as taxable salary and how much should be designated as tax-free housing. Church officers will not know this. It must come from the pastor. The calculation worksheet result is given to the church officer in charge of the church payroll so they will know how to report the breakdown to the church payroll service. In some cases, all of the pastor's compensation may be classified as housing. Each situation is different. The worksheet result is the determining factor.
